In Ghana, and in the cities in particular passenger shelters (bus stops) are among the more remarkable landmarks of city’s landscape. A passenger shelter is special because it is an inevitable part of the routine of the daily life. In view of the social function of everyday transport, a well designed shelter will impart a feeling of comfort and trust.
The intention of the design contest is to explore ways by which passenger shelters can be used effectively in the urban environment. A passenger shelter should be aesthetically appealing and in keeping with the feeling of the dynamism of a city.
Proposals centered on the nature of the material used are very welcome. Whatever the used material may be, it should be used in a manner that stimulates the imagination and hints at abundant possibilities.
