Street furniture is one of the landmarks of a city. It provides visitors with their first impression of a City and enhances the city’s image. Passenger shelters (bus stops) are the most remarkable landmarks among other street furniture. They are natural and necessary.
The intention of the design contest is to discover ways in which passenger shelters can be constructed and used effectively in the environment of city transport.
A passenger shelter should be aesthetically appealing and in keeping with the feeling of the dynamism of the city.
The Ghana Government is promoting the construction of these new designs in their effort to beautify the public transport environment.
